Senior guard Camontae Griffin was selected by both the Capital Athletic Conference and PrestoSports/Pride of Maryland as the player of the week for the week ending November 22 after Griffin registered a record-setting weekend in leading No. 20 St. Marys College of Maryland to its second consecutive title in the Pride of Maryland Championship presented by M&T Bank.
It was a record-setting night for senior guard Camontae Griffin who poured in a tournament record 51 points in leading No. 20 St. Marys College of Maryland to its second consecutive Pride of Maryland title as the Seahawks remain undefeated with an 89-77 triumph over Hood College in championship game.
Despite a double-double from senior guard Stephanie Saint-Aubin, St. Marys College of Maryland dropped a 69-60 decision to Widener University Sunday afternoon in the closing game of the 2009 Cherry Cove/Seahawk Tip-Off Tournament.
No. 20 St. Marys College of Maryland will have the opportunity to repeat as Pride of Maryland champions tomorrow evening as the Seahawks outlasted Salisbury University, 78-76, semifinal action of the Pride of Maryland Championship presented by M&T Bank on Saturday night.
The Pride of Maryalnd championship game will be televised on WBAL 11-2 digital (as well as Comcast 208 and Verizon 460) on Sunday, November 20 at 6:30 pm. St. Mary's College of Maryland will take on Hood College in the title match.
