DeBoissiere Picks Up CAC Swimmer of the Week Honors

York, Pa. - Freshman Billy DeBoissiere (Columbia, Md./Atholton) of the St. Mary's College of Maryland men's swim team earned the Capital Athletic Conference Men's Swimmer of the Week honor for the week ending November 1 as announced by league commissioner, Tom Byrnes, Tuesday afternoon.

DeBoissiere has had quite a start to his collegiate career, leading St. Mary's (2-0, 1-0 CAC) to two season-opening wins as the 6-2 freshman nabbed six gold medals in his debut.

DeBoissiere helped the Seahawks snap a 13-meet losing streak against Catholic University with a four-point win as he touched the wall first in the 200 freestyle (1:52.11), the 500 freestyle (5:05.71) and led a 1-2-3 sweep in the 100 breaststroke (1:00.27).

The next day, the Seahawks snapped a seven-meet slide versus Marymount (Va.) University as DeBoissiere captured top honors again in the 200 (1:52.09) and 500 freestyles (5:28.54), then switched to lead a 1-2-3 finish in the 200 breaststroke (2:17.79).

Both of DeBoissiere's breaststroke times are currently the top times in the conference while his 500 freestyle time of 5:05.71 is fifth and his 200 freestyle time of 1:52.09 is sixth.
