  • Four Seahawks Named to MAISA All-Conference Teams
    April 17, 2020
    The Middle Atlantic Intercollegiate Sailing Association announced the 2019-20 All-Conference Teams with four student-athletes from St. Mary’s College of Maryland receiving honors. The Seahawks were led by All-MAISA First Team Coed Skipper sophomore Leo Boucher. Junior Lewis Cooper was named an All-MAISA Second Team Coed Skipper, while senior Ashley Wagner and junior Sophie Taczak were named All-MAISA Crews.

  • Seahawks Represent at Navy Spring Women’s Interconference and St. Mary’s Team Race Regattas

    The St. Mary’s College of Maryland sailing team hosted the St. Mary’s Team Race Regatta and sent sailors to the United States Naval Academy to compete this weekend (March 7-8). The Seahawks placed sixth at home and placed tenth at the Navy Spring Women’s Regatta.
  • St. Mary’s College Kicks off Spring Sailing Season

    The St. Mary’s College of Maryland sailing team began their spring season this weekend (Feb. 29 - March 1) sending sailors to three different regattas to compete. The Seahawks took first in the ODU Women’s Interconference Regatta, sixth at the Georgetown Team Race, and fourth at the Tom Noble Team Race.
  • Seahawks Take Second in 2020 Rose Bowl

    To kick off the new year the St. Mary’s College of Maryland sailing team traveled to Long Beach, California for the 2020 Rose Bowl this past weekend (Jan. 4-5). The Seahawks took second in both divisions which led to a second-place overall finish.
  • Boucher Named SMCM November Student-Athlete of the Month

    St. Mary’s College of Maryland sailing member Leo Boucher has been named the November Student-Athlete of the Month, the SMCM athletic department announced today (Dec. 4).
  • Leo Boucher Named National Champion at Men’s Singlehanded Nationals

    Leo Boucher represented St. Mary’s College of Maryland sailing this weekend (Nov. 9-10) at the LaserPerformance Men’s Singlehanded Nationals hosted by UC Santa Barbara. Boucher returned to campus as a National Champion by taking first place in the regatta.
  • Seahawks Take First at War Memorial Regatta

    St. Mary’s College of Maryland sailing team faced tough competition this weekend (Oct. 26-27) in the War Memorial Regatta and the MAISA Women’s Fall Dinghy Championship. The Seahawks placed first in the War Memorial Regatta and eighth in the MAISA Women’s Fall Dinghy Championship.
  • Seahawks Take On Coed Showcase Finals and Caboose Cup Classic

    The St. Mary’s College sailing team competed in two different regattas this weekend, both on the road. The Seahawks were represented at the Coed Showcase Finals and the Caboose Cup Classic, also known as the Hoya Invitational.
  • Seahawks Compete in Oyster Bowl and Women’s Showcase Finals

    The St. Mary’s College sailing team was busy this weekend with competitions in Norfolk, Va and here in St. Mary’s City. The team had sailors competing in the Oyster Bowl and the Women’s Showcase B Finals.
  • Seahawks Stay Busy With Two Weekend Regattas

    The St. Mary’s College of Maryland sailing team competed in two regattas this weekend (Oct. 5-6). One hosted by Georgetown University and the other was on campus taking place on the St. Mary’s River.
  • Seahawks Take Second in Danmark Trophy and 12th in Women’s Showcase

    The Seahawks took home second place in the Danmark Trophy and 12th place in the first round of the Women’s Showcase this weekend (Sept. 28-29). A strong breeze on both Saturday and Sunday made for a challenging day of sailing on the Thames River.
  • Boucher Defends Title at MAISA Men’s Singlehanded Championship

    Leo Boucher captured the first-place title in the MAISA Men’s Singlehanded Championship this weekend (Sept. 21-22). This is the second year in a row Boucher has won this title.
  • Sailing Team Hosts First Regattas of the Fall Season

    The St. Mary’s College of Maryland sailing team is back in action and on the water. This past weekend (Sept. 14-15) the team hosted the Chesapeake Invitational.
  • Join the St. Mary's College Sailing Team!

    The St. Mary’s College of Maryland varsity coed sailing team is currently looking for enthusiastic athletes to join; no sailing experience necessary! However, a positive attitude, readiness to learn, competitive spirit, and athletic nature are desired. The Seahawks compete in both the fall and spring seasons. An interest meeting will be held on Sunday, Sept. 1 at noon at the waterfront.
