Women’s Swimming Edged by McDaniel

WESTMINSTER, Md. - The St. Mary's College of Maryland women's swimming team (1-5) traveled to McDaniel College to take on the Green Terror (1-3) in non-conference action. The Seahawks dropped the meet by a final score of 58-55.

How It Happened

  • The Seahawks won the opening event in the meet when the team of Carolyn Sutton, Bailey Edgren, Christina Trnkus, and Brenna Litynski recorded a time of 1:59.04 in the 200 Yard Medley Relay. Next, Lexi Efron won the 150 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:55.91. Edgren tallied a first-place finish in the 50 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 33.45.

  • Other notable Seahawk finishes came from Paige Adelsberger (2nd - 600 Yard Freestyle, 2nd - 300 Yard IM), Becca Sonnenberg (2nd - 150 Yard Butterfly), Trnkus (3rd - 150 Yard Butterfly, 3rd - 50 Yard Butterfly), Rileigh Krell (2nd - 150 Yard Backstroke) Elizabeth Johnson (3rd - 150 Yard Backstroke), Edgren (2nd - 150 Yard Breaststroke, 2nd - 100 Yard IM), Litynski (2nd - 150 Yard Freestyle, 2nd - 50 Yard Freestyle), Sutton (2nd - 50 Yard Butterfly), Leila McCloskey (2nd - 50 Yard Backstroke), and Christina Bonass (2nd - 50 Yard Breaststroke).
