Women’s Swimming Sits in Third at CAC Championships

ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. - The St. Mary's College of Maryland women's swimming team (4-7, 2-2 CAC) competed in day two of the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) Championships on Thursday (Feb. 13). The Seahawks currently sit in third place with 164 points.

How It Happened

  • Anna LaPoint began the session with a sixth place finish in the 500 Yard Freestyle with a time of 5:22.06. Next, Becca Sonnenberg brought home a 13th place finish in the 200 Yard IM with a time of 2:24.37.

  • Brenna Litynski nearly brought home a conference championship when she finished second in the 50 Yard Freestyle, swimming a time of 24.72.

  • The Seahawks concluded day two of competition with a third place finish in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay. The team of Litynski, Leila McCloskey, Christina Trnkus, and Carolyn Sutton finished with a time of 1:40.29.
