ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland volleyball team (5-13,0-3) hosted the Salisbury University Seagulls (12-5,1-2) for a Capital Athletic Conference matchup Saturday afternoon (Oct. 5). The Seahawks dropped the match to the Seagulls with a score of 3-0.

How It Happened

The first set proved to be the most competitive as both teams traded points until St. Mary's College found themselves trailing 19-18 late in the set. However, Salisbury pulled away to extend their lead to 23-19. The Seahawks continued to battle for a couple more points but fell 25-21.

Salisbury started the second set with a big run to give them an 18-9 lead. St. Mary's College saw that lead shrink to 18-13 but the Seagulls went on another run of their own and would take the second set with a final score of 25-17.

Salisbury jumped out to a 7-1 lead in the third and never looked back from there. The Seagulls took the set and match by winning the third with a score of 25-15.
